Siop y Pentre is situated in the heart of Cilgerran and offers the usual services that you would find in a local shop, groceries, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, and household products. But it is more than a shop it is welcoming, friendly and the hub of the community. The aim has always been to put the community first by being aware of what we have on our doorstep and what customers want. We pride ourselves on the range of local and Welsh goods on offer along with a selection of wholesome and artisan products. As we become more aware of the impact of waste to the environment, we decided to take some action and offer a refill service. It is now imbedded in the shop culture as customers bring in their empties to be refilled.
Cilgerran is a small village on the north side of Pembrokeshire which offers visitors an ideal base for walking, bird watching, canoeing, fishing and cycling. We are fortunate to have a Castle perched high above the River Teifi which is open daily to the public and attracts many visitors.
Visitors and locals take advantage of our outdoor seating area and enjoy our homemade sandwiches and/or locally roasted coffee. Due to the unpredictable Welsh weather, we do offer a small indoor seating area as swell
We produce a range of hampers for family, friends or corporate businesses to suit a range of budgets throughout the year. Recently we have introduced locally made gifts and plastic free homeware.
The community hub wouldn’t be complete without the services offered by our Post office which is open along side the shop opening hours 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 6pm on Sunday.
